✔ Start to connect more to the mind, body concept as well.
✔ See your overall early childhood environment start to shift into a calmer state.
No need to think about what to do with the children!
It's all laid out in this very easy to follow session plan guide book.
All you have to do is to read up on what is in your daily session plan, then go ahead and implement it with the children!
Its easy!
Each session plan involves short 5-10 minutes sequences for each of the elements of your yoga program, so that you can facilitate in short increments throughout the day or as a full session, which lasts about 30 minutes.
You decide how you will use the session plans - whole group sessions or smaller incidental experiences.
By doing these practices daily, you are giving children tools they can use now and into their future.
Why not start tomorrow so that children can be empowered now, to support their own wellbeing and you can enjoy calmer, more regulated environments that support children's emotional & social wellbeing.
This 30 day holistic yoga program gives you 20 daily session plans, which includes these elements:
Mindfulness is embedded into everything we do in yoga.
Yoga poses, yoga dances, yoga fun!
This is basically the movement we do in the session.
Connecting movement with breath is the most important way to understand & connect to our body more deeply.
A very important part of the program to allow children to connect to their physiological body better.
Breathing correctly is the number one way to manage stress.
Done daily with a singing bowl or chimes.
This simple meditation is the number 1 thing you must include every day!
Negative self talk can be self sabotaging.
Teach children how to positively talk to themselves for greater personal empowerment.
Relaxation time can be a challenge but with a thoughtful approach which is engaging, you will have children resting for extended periods of time.
This is more than a session plan.
Your Yoga Toolkit Program aims to assist you in embedding yoga practices daily.
How?
We all know how busy our day can be in education & care.
By implementing a checklist system you and the children can participate in ticking off your daily elements with the aim to simply keep you accountable so you don't forget any of them!
All these elements encompass to create a holistic and meaningful yoga practice.
When you give out the Wellbeing Warrior Certificate after the 30 days, it is a beautiful reminder to children of what they have learnt, so this is imprinted into their memory. They will often share what they have learnt with their families in the home environment. Share your sessions plans with families too!
Daily Checklist
Pin it to your wall!
Each of the elements of your holistic wellbeing program are listed on this checklist.
Invite the children to tick off each time you implement an element, so that it helps you to embed these practices.
Daily implementation of all these elements ensures you are delivering a program that suits all learners as well as reinforcing the learning.
The more we practice something, the more we remember the information.
Remember, all 5 elements of breathing, relaxation, meditation, movement & affirmations don't need to be done altogether. You can break these up and embed throughout your day alongside other transition, routine and play times.
For example, taking some deep breaths before your story time is a perfect way of embedding yoga practices.
Yoga Play Wellbeing Warrior Certificate
Print out this certificate for all the children who participate in the 30 day yoga wellbeing program.
This certificate reminds children to be a Wellbeing Warrior and to use their yoga tools anytime they need to feel better.
As we focus on developing our inner being, our outer world begins to shift.
You may notice a calmer environment overall, more kindness between the children, better focus and increased capability of managing feelings.
By being the facilitator, you too will notice the change.
Gradually over time, you will begin to step into your own essence of becoming more mindful and become your very own Wellbeing Warrior!
The program is suited to early childhood environments only, unless you have a certification in yoga. If you are certified in yoga, then this program is suited to any cohort you work with.
Why, if I'm not trained in yoga should I not facilitate it with older children?
Because very young children have a good range of flexibility & are already moving their bodies in many ways and most early learning environments are already playing with some basic yoga poses (off Youtube, for example). Early childhood educators are already facilitating drama, dance, singing, creative movement and more, which are elements of this program. Early childhood educators are trained to guide young children through a range of movement already.
For older children who's bodies are starting to change, it is advisable to be trained in yoga so that you can support this age group safely & more age appropriately.
The only prerequisite is to have some basic mobility.
If you can dance around with children, sit on the floor, participate in games or action songs, then this program is completely appropriate. The program requirements are to have an open mind and to implement what you can. Each element of the daily yoga program is accompanied by a brief on what to do. If you are unsure what a particular yoga pose looks like, for example, 'dog pose', a quick online search in images will help to clarify.
Everything else is there for you to take action right now!
The purpose of the Checklist is to assist you with embedding your practice. Sometimes we get busy and things slide by. By ticking off each day what you have achieved, you not only gain a sense of satisfaction when you have implemented your yoga program but it helps you to stay accountable. Invite the children to tick off each time you finish one of the elements of your program. They will love helping you to stay accountable! It also gives them a true sense of connecting to their yoga practice.
The certificate can be given to each child at the end of the 30 day program, as a reminder of the tools they learnt to help promote positive wellbeing for themselves.
Taking the next step can be overwhelming for many educators but that's ok!

Hi, I'm Nic!
I am an early childhood educator of 30 years, a practising yogi of 20 years and a mother of 3.
My mission is to empower early childhood educators to facilitate yoga in their early childhood environments so that they support & enhance children's wellbeing.
I believe yoga will promote healthy social & emotional developmental outcomes which assists in the transition to school, setting them up to become happier & healthier.
You’ll find me in my element when I’m spruiking the benefits of yoga to the world of early childhood.
I wholeheartedly believe that yoga at this young age will set children up to manage their mental health wellbeing so that they become mindfully healthy citizens of the next generation.
Imagine the power in that! Imagine if every child is given the magic of yoga at such a young age.
Giving children these tools earlier rather than later could potentially have such positive outcomes; to themselves and our society.
A world full of future happier adults who were taught how to self regulate, balance their nervous systems and work with awareness through the clutter of their mind as children! It is possible!
Ask any adult who has done yoga and they will tell you how it’s made a difference to their wellbeing.
I envision a future world of kinder and more tolerant people.
